In any one month the hospice care team will minister to over 90 adult patients and 50 child patients. This treatment is given free. Unfortunately they cannot help everyone who comes immediately and there is a waiting list for their services. They offer the only hospice care in the area and train nurses from the local hospital in palliative care.
At present they have to treat people in their homes as they don’t have a building where patients can stay. A building is currently under construction.
One third of their patients are helped with clothing and food in addition to their medical needs.
